The Problem
dancunning.com was stale. The black and white concept emphasized a brutal simplicity while the content itself aged. The technical articles were mostly simple features using outdated technology. I hadn't written about any of my projects for years, though I never slowed down working on them. The only (sort of) "active" section was entertainment, which kept up with my recommendations.
The Solution
A new concept: explore, learn, build. Explore and learn give myself permission to write without worrying about being perfect. Build is the ultimate goal: transform ideas into reality.
The site's visuals double-down on imperfection. I'm using a pencil, not a pen.
Articles are separated into my five areas of interest: economy, entertainment, projects, sports, and technology. Each gets its own color to visually separate them, an homage to Trivial Pursuit.
