After the finicial crash of 2007 comes this sharp take on modern corporate life, tackling issues like greenspaces, sexual harassment, scapegoats and one of my favorite episodes of all time: racial sensitivity (YouTube highlights).

Between Gilmore Girls and The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, creator Amy Sherman-Palladino led this show for one season. Capitalizing on the success of Pretty Little Liars, ABC Family doubled-down on guilty pleasure TV, leaving no room for Bunheads.

Jason Isaacs plays a detective simultaneously living in two separate realities: one where his wife died in a car crash and another where his son did. The middle episodes dragged as they leaned into the police procedural format, but the show really wrapped up well before it was cancelled.

Helped by a lead in by Sex and the City, the pilot broke HBO's debut ratings record, but ratings tapered in the second season resulting in its cancellation. Seemingly lost in HBO's growing library, it features a thought-provoking portrayal of the struggles of morality and free will/destiny.

The WB's answer to The West Wing, this short-lived series follows the formative years of a future president using a not-so-subtle nod to the Kennedy family. Fast dialouge and regularly too dramatic music, Episode 9's the chess plot is still one of my favorites.

Produced by Ben Stiller and starring two of my favorites comedians from The State, Burning Love is a scripted parady of reality dating competition shows. Even though it lasted three seasons, it didn't have a true home channel making it hard to track down and watch.
